dao ming si is in town. this is good news to my youngest sister. and he’s heading to malacanang for a courtesy call. i wonder why gma wants to meet him. she’d probably thank him for increased consumer spending..
i just found out how pencils are made. it’s amazing how knowledge of things like this can boost one’s ego. it feels like singing out loud a joni mitchell song in the middle of a cramped mrt car, your fellow passengers dropping you some wow-you-know-that-song look. or theyd curse you for the confidence. the hell with them. which reminds me, my jeans got stuck in the doors of the damn train this morning. i was glued to the door from cubao to santolan. along the short stretch i was thinking of why i took a cab yesterday, when a part of me belongs to the train every morning. such deep realizations. more coffee.. and yosi please.
at 24, i can gobble up a jollibee breakfast meal in under five minutes. isn’t that amazing? ahh the talents i have. 30 minutes for 40 laps in a 25m swimming pool. i can swim faster than our dog!
our dog was recently given parole by my father. the good dog killed 11 of the 12 baby chicks that were supposed to start the poultry population in our backyard. he was sentenced to death by execution for crimes against chickendom, particularly chicken cleansing. but my youngest sister made a dramatic appeal to let the poor dog live. this melted my father’s heart and so king, the good dog, was given a lighter sentence: 2 lashes. 2 lashes for the lives of the 11 chicks. imagine an animal courtroom: bitch! chicken!.. injustice? hmm not quite. the dog was a good dog. and good dogs don’t deserve to die over minutes of insanity. i pity the chick that lived. by the time of this writing, the chick must’ve realized that his role in life was to serve as a warning to those that would come after him. he’d be like tarzan. he’d grow old alone. oh my. we all know that chicken can’t do it alone. four pigs stood witness to the crime, fortunately they have their own pens, and were spared the sad fate. that’s our backyard, a real-life animal farm.
