shakepeare and i had never been formally introduced and i always mistake his works for others’. and i hate the uneasy feeling i get everytime people talk about him and his works.. so i take every chance i have to witness his masterpieces, be it in theater or film or poetry reading. and oftentimes i find his work boring, except for an adaptation by baz luhrman of romeo and juliet. and then last night, i saw this, hamlet. adaptation by Michael Almereyda. stars ethan hawke, julia stiles, kyle mclachlan, among others.

hamlet. ophelia. horatio. pollonius. gertrude. i think it was great. i understand his brilliance now. and all this time i thought depression and madness came late into mankind’s conciousness.
fear me not. but, to be or not to be? is the one thing i had asked myself of late. thank god for sunshine.
i recommend this to bored people. turn the subtitles on. and have a glass of rum coke in hand.
